Adam Yala currently serves as an Assistant Professor at both the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco since 2022. Prior to these positions, Adam worked as a Research Assistant at MIT CSAIL from January 2016 to June 2022 and held research internship roles at ASAPP and Etsy. During the various software engineer internships at Etsy, Adam contributed significantly to the development of customer-facing features. Adam also gained product management experience at Burstworks and was involved in real-time speech data processing as an Undergraduate Researcher at MIT Media Lab. Adam holds a PhD in Computer Science, a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where Adam studied from 2012 to 2022, with a year at the University of Cambridge in 2014-2015.
