Anna Valcarcel

Graduate Student Researcher

Anna Valcarcel is a graduate student researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, where research is conducted in the Water and Carbon Lab under the guidance of Dr. Cynthia Gerlein-Safdi. Previous experience includes serving as a NASA DEVELOP remote sensing researcher at NASA Langley Research Center, focusing on harmful algal blooms in Chile, and as a technology development engineer at Brooks Instrument, where technology for mass flow controllers was developed for semiconductor applications. Other roles include engineering technologist for battery testing at Johnson Space Center and undergraduate researcher at the Human/Robotics/Vehicle Integration and Performance Lab. Anna Valcarcel holds a Master of Science in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering at the same institution.
