Caitlin Cornell is a James S. McDonnell Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on the biophysical properties influencing immune cell behavior in Professor Dan Fletcher's lab since August 2020. Prior to this, Caitlin was a Graduate Research Assistant in Membrane Biophysics at the University of Washington from September 2014 to August 2020, where experiments were designed to study the effects of n-alcohols on model membrane phase behavior using fluorescence microscopy. Other experiences include serving as a Research Facilitator at Woods Hole Marine Biology Laboratory, where assistance was provided to research groups in summer research intensives, and as a Research Assistant at Technical Universitat, Dresden, conducting experiments from a prior intensive. Additionally, Caitlin worked as a Scientific Instrumentation Instructor at The Evergreen State College, teaching advanced techniques in various spectroscopies and microscopy to upperclassmen. Caitlin holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry and Biophysics from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Chemistry from The Evergreen State College.
