Carolyn Stein

Carolyn Stein is an Assistant Professor at the Haas School of Business and the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, since July 2022. Previously, Stein served as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research from July 2021 to June 2022 and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from January 2016 to March 2017, working with Professors Josh Angrist, David Autor, and Amanda Pallais. Early career experience includes roles as an Analyst at Bain Capital Credit from July 2013 to July 2015, a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University in the Department of Statistics, and various teaching and research assistant positions at Harvard University and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Carolyn Stein holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard University.
