Chris La is currently a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on the borylation of unactivated C–H bonds and ligand development for catalytic applications under Professor John F. Hartwig. Previously, Chris served as an Analytical Chemistry Intern at Terviva, conducting quality assurance testing and method development for Pongamia oil products. As a UC LEADS Scholar, participation in research and professional development programs took place at various institutions, including presentations at research conferences. Prior roles include research at UCLA studying the effects of air pollution on health, environmental safety internships at Amyris, and contributions to community environmental education through the Rose Foundation. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from UCLA and is pursuing a PhD in Organic Chemistry at UC Berkeley.
