Christopher Hobbs, Ph.D. is a distinguished research scientist and consultant affiliated with the University of California, Berkeley since August 2006. With expertise in phylogenetics, evolutionary biology, ecology, biogeography, phytochemistry, chemosystematics, and ethnobotany/ethnopharmacology, Christopher also works as an educator and licensed acupuncturist. In addition to academic roles, Christopher serves as the Director of the Institute for Natural Products Research, a position held since October 1985, focusing on research and education in the natural products field. Previously, Christopher was the Director of Integrative Science at Rainbow Light Nutritional Systems from August 1984 to December 2016. Christopher earned a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology, Phylogenetics, Phytochemistry, and Ethnobotany from the University of California, Berkeley between 2006 and 2011.
