Em Huang

Em Huang is an experienced professional in higher education and student affairs, currently serving as the Director of LGBTQ+ Advancement & Equity and Resident Director at the University of California, Berkeley since July 2017. Responsibilities include supervising Hall Staff, developing programming focused on gender and sexual diversity, and instructing students in academic seminars. Additionally, Em Huang has served as a volleyball coach for Berkeley High School since the 2019-2020 season. Previous experience includes various assessment and retention roles at the University of Vermont, where Em Huang contributed to initiatives supporting students of color, trans and transitioning individuals, and the development of inclusive excellence frameworks. Em Huang also held positions at the University of Southern California, focusing on supporting Asian Pacific American students and providing academic assistance to student-athletes. Em Huang earned a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with minors in Natural Science, Psychology, and Gender Studies from the University of Southern California.
