Frank Luan

Frank Luan is a co-founder and CTO at Wayo since April 2023 and a graduate student researcher in the PhD program at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on computer science with research interests in data, AI systems, and cloud computing. Prior experience includes a role as a software engineer at Facebook from August 2017 to December 2019, where Frank developed machine learning tools and contributed to major projects, along with earlier positions as a software engineering intern at Facebook and a research assistant at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. As co-founder and CTO of SketchOff, Frank raised $1.5 million in seed funding and led a development team. Additional roles include managing a computer science lab at The University of Chicago and serving as an executive editor for the Wikimedia Foundation, where Frank made significant contributions to the quality of Chinese Wikipedia. Frank holds a BS in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Chicago and is pursuing a PhD at UC Berkeley.
