Jo MacKness

Jo Mackness serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Residential & Student Service Programs at the University of California, Berkeley, overseeing a portfolio exceeding $200 million that includes housing, dining, and early childhood education. With a comprehensive background in leadership positions at the University, Mackness previously held roles such as Assistant Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer of Student Affairs, where responsibilities included managing a $150 million portfolio and overseeing operations. Mackness has also contributed as Staff Advisor to the Regents, advocating for staff perspectives at the highest levels of university governance. Earlier experience includes significant roles at Ernst & Young in corporate responsibility and various consulting positions, alongside an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a BA in Psychology from UCLA.
