John Orbon

John Orbon is a seasoned development professional with extensive experience in fundraising and communications, currently serving as the Senior Director of Development at the University of California, Berkeley, where responsibilities include major gift fundraising for the top public research library in the country. Prior roles include Interim Executive Director of Development, overseeing fundraising for the university's 20+ libraries, and Associate Director of Development, coordinating major gift fundraising efforts. In addition, John has contributed as a Major Gifts Officer at Fossil Free California and as Director of Development and Communications at Park Day School, where annual giving was doubled during a leadership transition. Earlier career experience includes a Marketing Director position at Lux Design, working with prominent Bay Area organizations, and sales and marketing management at Xerox.
