Jon Winet

Jon Winet currently serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, with roles spanning from January 2022 to the present, including appointments in Spring 2022 and Spring 2024. Winet has held a long-term position at the University of Iowa since August 2002, where contributions include serving as a Public Policy Center Fellow, Professor Emeritus in the Intermedia Program, and Director of the Public Digital Arts Faculty Cluster Initiative. Additional experience includes directing the UNESCO City of Literature Mobile Application Development Team at the University of Iowa, as well as various visiting professorships at UC Berkeley focusing on American Studies and digital humanities. Winet has also engaged as an Associate with Bay Area and national artists organizations since 1986 and held teaching roles at other institutions, including the Maryland Institute College of Art and U.C. Davis Art Department. Winet earned an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from San Francisco State University and has a significant background in media, social practice, and design.
