Jonas Meckling is a Climate Fellow at Harvard Business School, focusing on the Institute for Business in Global Society since July 2023. Currently, Jonas serves as an Associate Professor of Energy and Environmental Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, a position held since January 2014, and has taken on multiple roles, including Director of the Energy and Environment Policy Lab and Climate Lead for the Berkeley Economy and Society Initiative. Previous academic positions include Coleman P. Burke Distinguished Visiting Associate Professor at Yale School of the Environment in 2021 and Senior Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies in 2020. Extensive experience in policy advisory roles includes a tenure as Senior Adviser at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment and postdoctoral research at Harvard Kennedy School. Jonas holds a Ph.D. in International Political Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science, where earlier studies also resulted in an M.Sc. in Environment and Development.
