Kate O'Neill serves as the Associate Dean for Instruction and Student Affairs at UC Berkeley's Rausser College of Natural Resources since July 2021, while also holding a position as a Professor at UC Berkeley since January 1999. O'Neill earned a PhD in Political Science from Columbia University, where studies took place from 1991 to 1997, and obtained a BA in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the University of Oxford, completing that program between 1987 and 1990.
