Louise Fox

Visiting Professor in Development Practice

Louise Fox is an internationally recognized development economist currently serving as a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution in San Francisco, CA. As a consulting Development Economist, they have been self-employed since 2013. Previously, Louise held significant roles at The World Bank, where they worked as both Senior Economist and Lead Economist, and served as Chief Economist at USAID from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, they teach graduate students in the Masters in Development Practice Program at UC Berkeley and have contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University. Louise is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics at Vanderbilt University.
