Miguel Martinez

Miguel Martinez is an experienced professional in government relations, currently serving as the Director of State Government Relations at the University of California, Berkeley since October 2022. In this role, Miguel focuses on legislative and budgetary advocacy, tracking and monitoring legislation alongside the UC Office of the President, while also managing relationships with state legislators and agencies through collaborations with Deans, Faculty, Administrators, Students, and Alumni. Prior to this, Miguel held the position of Senior Advisor at Double Nickel Advisors LLC since January 2016, and served as the Assistant Director of State Government Relations at the University of California, Los Angeles from April 2018 to October 2022. Miguel's experience includes a tenure at the California State Assembly, where roles included Senior Field Representative, District Director, and Legislative Aide. Miguel earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, Davis from 2002 to 2007.
