Richard Wang

Research Apprentice (urap)

Richard Wang is a data science and computer science student at the University of California, Berkeley, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Statistics. Currently serving as a Teaching Assistant for DATA 140: Probability for Data Science, Richard also contributes as a Research Apprentice, developing U-Net and Vision Transformer models for detecting and segmenting various astronomical elements. Previous internships include a software engineering role at Capital One, where Richard revamped system architecture for servicing emails, and a quant trading internship at IMC Trading. Richard's experience also encompasses computer vision research at Academia Sinica in Taiwan, focusing on semantic and instance segmentation tasks. Proficient in technologies such as Python, Java, and AWS, Richard is well-versed in agile methodologies and performance testing.
