Ruben E. Canedo

Ruben E. Canedo is the Director of Strategic Equity Initiatives at the University of California, Berkeley, where they have contributed significantly since 2017. They previously held various roles at UC Berkeley, including Academic Counselor Apprentice and Research & Mobilization Coordinator, focusing on supporting first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented student populations. Ruben's early experience includes serving as a Summer Bridge Residential Assistant and working as a motivational speaker dedicated to helping non-traditional students believe in their potential. They earned a Bachelor of Arts in Area, Ethnic, Cultural, Gender, and Group Studies from UC Berkeley in 2011.
