Ryan Keivanfar

Graduate Student Researcher

Ryan Keivanfar possesses extensive experience in computational biology, currently serving as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley since August 2020, focusing on the intersection of AI and biology to develop deep learning methods for genome regulation. Prior to this role, Ryan was a Computational Biologist at Nautilus Biotechnology from November 2018 to August 2020, where responsibilities included leading the development of sequencing pipelines and optimizing nucleic acid affinity reagents. As a Data Analyst at 10X Genomics from September 2016 to October 2018, Ryan contributed to the development of single-cell RNA sequencing and ATAC-seq products. Ryan's research career began as a Staff Researcher at UC Santa Barbara from July 2014 to September 2016, which included a role as a Teaching Assistant in Cell Growth & Oncogenesis. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology from UC Santa Barbara and is pursuing a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
