Sam Baum

Sam Baum currently serves as the Associate Head Coach at the University of California, Berkeley, since July 2023, following extensive experience in collegiate rowing coaching. Previously, Sam held the position of Associate at SPMB Executive Search, focusing on research strategy in the Go To Market and CEO practice from August 2022 to April 2023. From June 2018 to July 2022, Sam was an Assistant Coach for Men's Rowing at the University of California, Berkeley, where efforts in international recruitment contributed to a national championship victory in 2022 and support for athletes competing in the 2021 Tokyo Games. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant Coach at Yale University, where operations and recruitment strategies were notably advanced, and as the Head Rowing Coach at Junipero Serra High School. Sam's early professional experience includes a role as Garde Manger at Pizzaiolo Oakland, enhancing culinary skills and teamwork. Sam holds a degree from the University of Pennsylvania, earned between 2005 and 2009.
