Soren Lipman

Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley

Soren Lipman is a dedicated graduate student researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in the Chemistry Department and Chemical Biology Graduate Program since August 2021. In the lab of Professor Evan W. Miller, Soren focuses on synthesizing phospho-siliconrhodamine dyes to investigate voltage changes in neurons. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant House Manager at the Mondavi Center at UC Davis from October 2017 to June 2021 and working as an undergraduate student researcher in Professor Mark J. Kurth's lab, where Soren synthesized over 50 novel spiro[piperidine-4,1-pyrido[3,4-b]indole] compounds for cystic fibrosis treatment. Additional roles include a Chemical Dispensary Assistant at UC Davis, where Soren ensured proper safety protocols and managed laboratory materials. Soren Lipman holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of California, Davis, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, expected to graduate in 2026.
