Stuart Bale

Stuart Bale currently serves as the Interim Director at the Space Sciences Laboratory and has been a Professor of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, since June 1997. Bale is also a co-founder of Heliospace, established in July 2018, and co-founded Stellar Scientific, which operated from August 2011 to July 2018. In addition, Bale held the position of Leverhulme Visiting Professor of Physics at Imperial College London from June 2019 to June 2020 and was the Director of the Space Sciences Laboratory from 2008 to 2018. Earlier in their career, Bale worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Queen Mary University of London from June 1994 to May 1997. Bale earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Minnesota, where studies were undertaken from August 1989 to May 1994.
