Surya Tripathi

Surya Tripathi is a PhD student and Graduate Student Researcher at Berkeley Lab, specializing in polysaccharide utilization and functional genomics with applications in probiotic development. Concurrently, Surya is pursuing a doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on improving probiotic efficacy through mouse model testing. Prior experience includes a Research Associate role at Stanford University School of Medicine, investigating infant microbiome functionalities, and an Undergraduate Student Researcher position at the Koch Institute of Cancer Research, working on stem cell research. Surya has also contributed as a Research Associate at the Broad Institute, screening bacteria for novel genes related to Human Milk Oligosaccharides. Additional project management experience includes initiatives on food safety in Nepal and educational support through solar installations in high schools. Surya holds a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has a robust educational background, including a comprehensive International Baccalaureate Diploma.
