Therese Peffer

Therese Peffer is the Associate Director at the California Institute for Energy & Environment (CIEE) within the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS)/Banatao Institute at UC Berkeley, where they also co-chair the BECC conference. Currently, they serve as the Director of the Enabling Technology Development Program at the Berkeley Energy & Climate Institute and manage research initiatives focused on reducing greenhouse gases and improving energy efficiency in buildings. Previously, Therese held roles including Postdoctoral Researcher and Research Coordinator at UC Berkeley, contributing significantly to energy consumption research and smart grid technology. They earned a PhD in Architecture Building Science from UC Berkeley, where they engaged with advanced topics in energy efficiency and sustainable design.
