Thomas Chastain, AIA, is an experienced architecture professional with a robust background in academia and urban design. Currently serving as a Faculty Lecturer in the College of Environmental Design at the University of California, Berkeley since January 2021, Thomas also holds the position of Principal at STUDIO URBIS since January 2000. Prior experience includes a tenure as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Lafayette, California from 2004 to 2018, and professorships at esteemed institutions including the University of California at Berkeley from 1993 to 2001, ILAUD in Venice, Italy from 1996 to 2000, and MIT from 1986 to 1993. Thomas Chastain earned a Master of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
