Thomas Mericle is an experienced traffic engineer and educator currently serving as the President and Principal Engineer at TKM Engineering since August 2021, providing traffic engineering services in the Ventura/Santa Barbara Central Coast Region. In addition to this role, Thomas has been an Extension Class Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley since 1999, teaching courses for the Institute for Transportation Studies. Previous positions include Traffic Engineer at Interwest Consulting Group, Inc., Principal Traffic Engineer at Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, and City Transportation Manager for the City of Ventura, among others. Thomas has actively contributed to the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) in various leadership roles, including president of the Central Coast Section and technical program chair for the 2019 Western District Conference. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.
