John Thompson is currently serving as Associate General Patent Counsel at UCB Celltech, a role they have held since the start of their career with the company in 2003. Prior to this, they worked at Merck & Co., Inc. as Assistant Counsel for European Patents from 1988 to 2003 and served as a Technical Assistant at Frank B. Dehn & Co. from 1984 to 1988. John earned both an MA and PhD in Natural Sciences (Chemistry) from the University of Cambridge, where they studied from 1977 to 1984.
