Lucy Sharples serves as Patent Counsel at UCB since April 2024, bringing expertise in drafting and prosecuting European and UK patent applications. From November 2020 to April 2024, Lucy worked as a Trainee Patent Attorney at Potter Clarkson, specializing in Biotechnology and Life Sciences, managing global patent portfolios, and conducting freedom to operate investigations. Prior to this, Lucy was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience and completed a PhD in Neuroscience at The University of Sheffield, where Lucy also earned a BSc in Biomedical Sciences. Additional research experience includes a placement as a Research Associate at A*STAR and a Neuroanatomy Demonstrator at the University of Sheffield Medical School.
