Matthew Walker is a Translational Scientist with over fifteen years of experience in assay development, drug development, and the identification of new therapeutic targets, particularly in orphan diseases, respiratory diseases, ocular diseases, immunology, and cancer biology. Currently, they serve as the Head of Element Genomics Biology at UCB, leading a team in functional genomics and complex cellular models. Previously, Walker held positions including Biology Lead at Vitrisa Therapeutics and Principal Scientist at Spyryx Biosciences, where they contributed significantly to multiple patent applications and research projects. Walker earned a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from The University of Chicago and a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Florida State University.
