Melvin Rincon has extensive experience in the field of molecular biology and gene therapy, starting as a Research Fellow at Fundación Cardiovascular de Colombia from January 2007 to September 2009, focused on developing a viral vector producing unit. Rincon continued academic pursuits at KU Leuven as a PhD Student in the Center for Molecular and Vascular Biology from October 2009 to May 2014. Following this, a postdoctoral position was held at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in the Department of Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine from August 2014 to August 2016, leading to a subsequent role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research from October 2016 to November 2019. Currently, Melvin Rincon serves as Preclinical Gene Therapy Lead at UCB, overseeing the advancement of gene therapy projects from preclinical stages to clinical applications.
