Sarah Freestone

Sarah Freestone is an accomplished leader in pharmacovigilance and device safety, currently serving as the Head of Vigilance, Systems and Innovation at UCB since November 2020. With a robust background that includes notable roles such as VP Head of Pharmacovigilance and Device Safety, and Senior Director of Medical Device Safety and Vigilance, Freestone has effectively managed global case processing activities, compliance, and strategic partnerships within the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. Prior experience at Smith & Nephew involved leadership in quality and regulatory functions across multiple divisions, with a strong focus on postmarket safety, adverse event reporting, and regulatory compliance. Freestone holds a Ph.D. in Human Molecular Genetics from the University of Cambridge and has enriched education credentials, including a Master’s in Technology Management from Chalmers University of Technology.
