Sonja Giger

Sonja Giger, Ph.D., serves as the Medical Lead for Rheum Osteo Alps at UCB since October 2020, where responsibilities include managing the Rheumatology and Osteoporosis portfolio across two countries, leading product launches, and mentoring a team. Prior experience includes roles at EPFL as a Medical Solution Lead and Scientist in Stem Cell Bioengineering, where Sonja developed preclinical models and communicated scientific findings to both medical and scientific partners. Sonja has a solid academic foundation with a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Bioengineering from EPFL, a Master's degree in Neurobiology from the University of Zurich, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Furthermore, Sonja has extensive teaching and laboratory experience across various educational institutions, coupled with a background in quality control from a previous role as a Chemical Laboratory Technician.
