Tom Gilis

Tom Gilis is an experienced CISO with a strong background in IT security, risk management, data privacy, and compliance, currently leading these functions at UCB since May 2018. With a history of over a decade at BruCON as a co-organizer and previous roles at Dimension Data, where responsibilities included delivering comprehensive security services and technical expertise, Tom has developed a deep understanding of security governance. Earlier experience includes positions as an application/security engineer at Quentris and a support engineer at Inca Networks. Tom holds two Master's degrees in Information Communication and System Security from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia and Communication Technology from HOWEST Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen.
