Carla Suhr, PhD, is a Professor of Spanish Linguistics and Community-engaged Learning at the University of California, Los Angeles, where responsibilities include teaching courses in Community-engaged Learning, Spanish, Spanish Linguistics, and Directed Research in Spanish since August 2016. Suhr is a founding member of EPIC Inclusive Gatherings, promoting inclusivity in education, and serves as Faculty Co-Director of the Study Abroad Program in Spain. Additional roles include Director of Language Training and Spanish Programs at IDESLI, Fulbright Spanish Language Evaluator, and previous teaching positions at the University of New Haven and California State University-Long Beach. Suhr holds a PhD in Cognitive Linguistics with a focus on Intercultural Communication and Cognition from University Complutense de Madrid, along with multiple degrees in related fields from the same institution.
