Emily Rose

Assistant Provost & Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at UCLA

Emily Rose is the current Assistant Provost & Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at UCLA. Prior to their current role, Emily served as the Senior Strategy Officer, Basic Science at UCLA from October 2011 to March 2017. In this role, Emily was responsible for creating and designing strategy to improve alignment between UCLA’s research mission and its fundraising, marketing and communication operations. Emily also developed tools and partnerships for innovative communication of UCLA’s scientific excellence, including: training faculty to give TED-style talks, designing an interactive science bootcamp for philanthropists and pursuing strategic partnerships across UCLA.

Previously, Emily served as the Director of Development, Foundations at City of Hope from August 2009 to October 2011. In this role, Emily was responsible for building relationships with private foundations and securing funding for City of Hope’s research and treatment programs.

Emily has a passion for education and improving the lives of others. Emily is a dedicated leader with a proven track record of success in fundraising, marketing and communications.

Emily Rose earned their executive MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and their PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland.

Emily Rose works with Paul H. Krebsbach - Dean, School of Dentistry, Darnell M. Hunt - Dean, Division of Social Sciences, and Eileen Strempel - Dean, The Herb Alpert School of Music. Their manager is Michael S. Levine, Vice Chancellor, Academic Personnel.
