UCLA
Evan Abt is a researcher with extensive experience in cancer biology, specializing in pancreatic and lung cancer. At UCLA, Evan served as a Postdoctoral Researcher from July 2011 to September 2019, focusing on enhancing immunotherapy through the co-targeting of the MAPK pathway and adenosine metabolism, supported by the T32 Tumor Immunology Training Grant. As a Graduate Student Researcher, Evan designed high-throughput screens to uncover vulnerabilities in pancreatic cancer cells influenced by inflammatory cytokines and developed a platform to identify small molecule inhibitors of cancer metabolism. Additionally, as a Research Associate, investigations were conducted on metabolic vulnerabilities in lung cancer cells associated with the LKB1 tumor suppressor gene, utilizing isogenic cell lines and genetically engineered mouse models. Educationally, Evan earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular and Medical Pharmacology from UCLA and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
