Jim Stigler

Jim Stigler is a distinguished academic and entrepreneur, currently serving as Co-Founder of CourseKata since July 2017 and as a Professor at UCLA since 1991, where also holds the position of Associate Dean for Research & Innovation in the Social Sciences. Notable previous roles include Co-Founder of Zaption, Inc., which was acquired by Workday in 2016, and CEO & Founder of LessonLab, which was acquired by Pearson Education in 2003. Stigler held the role of Senior Vice President for Research at Pearson from 2003 to 2007, and prior to that, served as an Assistant to Associate Professor at the University of Chicago from 1983 to 1991. Academically, Stigler earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and an AB from Brown University. Basic education was completed at Byram Hills High School.
