Joe Way

Joe Way, PhD, CTS, currently serves as the Executive Director of Digital Spaces at UCLA since September 2023. As a cofounder and Board member of the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance (HETMA) since its inception in 2019, Way champions the needs of higher education within the AV industry. An independent consultant with extensive experience in technology, education, and entertainment since 1995, Way has led numerous significant projects, including a major classroom technology upgrade at the University of Southern California, where Way served as Director of Learning Environments until September 2023. With previous roles including Director of Multimedia Services at California Baptist University and Regional Technical Director at Saddleback Church, Way boasts a diverse background in technical direction, business development, and education, complemented by formal academic credentials from the University of Southern California, University of Birmingham, and Moody Bible Institute.
