Juan Matute serves as the Deputy Director at the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies since July 2018, overseeing operations, research, and student programs while also managing the FHWA-funded Center of Excellence on New Mobility and Automated Vehicles. Matute has been a Lecturer at UCLA since July 2009, teaching comprehensive courses on urban planning. Previously, Matute held roles including President of Kaizenergy, Associate Director for Research and Administration at the UCLA Lewis Center, and Board Member at Downtown Santa Monica, Inc.
