Judith Baca

Professor of Chicano/a Studies and World Arts and Cultures

Judith Baca is a distinguished professor at UCLA, where they have been teaching since 1996 in the Chicana/o Studies and World Arts and Cultures departments. As the founder and artistic director of SPARC since 1976, Judith leads a cultural organization focused on social justice, education, and public art, notably large-scale murals. Recently, Judith completed two significant monuments honoring American civil rights heroes, Cesar Chavez and Robert Kennedy. With expertise in community cultural development and art education, Judith specializes in supporting underserved communities and at-risk youth through innovative art projects.
