MacKenzie Day

Assistant Professor

Mackenzie Day is an accomplished academic and researcher with a robust background in geology. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles since July 2018 and a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow at the University of Washington since July 2017, Mackenzie has been actively involved in higher education and research. Prior experience includes a PhD in Geology from The University of Texas at Austin, where involvement extended from August 2012 to May 2017, including roles as a Teaching Assistant for an accelerated summer course on Sedimentary Rocks. Internships include a position as an Upstream Development Intern at Shell in the summer of 2016, alongside multiple Teaching Assistant roles at Caltech during the early years of the academic career. Education was obtained from Caltech with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Geology, completed in 2012.
