Mason Porter

Mason Porter is a distinguished professor in the Department of Mathematics at UCLA since June 2016, where responsibilities include research and teaching. Prior to this role, Mason served at the University of Oxford from 2007 to August 2016, holding positions as Professor of Nonlinear and Complex Systems, Associate Professor, and University Lecturer within the Mathematical Institute. Earlier experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Scholar in Physics at Caltech from 2005 to 2007. Mason earned a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University in 2002 and holds a B.S. in applied math from Caltech, completed in 1998. Educational background also includes attendance at Beverly Hills High School, Hawthorne Elementary School, and Temple Emanuel Nursery School.
