Matthew Daines is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in development and marketing within the higher education and arts sectors. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Development (Europe) at UCLA since July 2014, Matthew has successfully led UCLA's Centennial Campaign in Europe. Previously, Matthew held the position of Director of External Relations & Programming at the University of California Trust (UK), where major donors and grantors were identified and cultivated for the University of California's ten-campus system. Matthew’s career also includes roles as Head of Marketing at the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields and Marketing Manager at United Music Publishers, complemented by experience as a Sales, Operations & Marketing Manager at Cala Records. Earlier in the career, Matthew was a Freelance Journalist & Broadcaster for Capital Public Radio, producing documentaries and hosting fundraising events. Matthew holds a Ph.D. in Musicology & Criticism from the University of California, Davis and a BA from the University of Leeds.
