Shima Sarabi

Graduate Research Fellow

Shima Sarabi is a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles since January 2020, specializing in high-strain rate stress analysis and fracture failure analysis, with expertise in in-situ measurement of solder joint strength using laser spallation techniques and finite element analysis (FEA). Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Product Design Engineer at a Petrochemical Company from 2010 to 2019, focusing on the manufacturing and reliability of compound materials, particularly in battery performance and optoelectronic sensor reliability. Sarabi has directed cross-functional R&D teams, achieved significant manufacturing efficiency improvements, and engaged in extensive research, resulting in co-authorship of three peer-reviewed publications and one funded grant. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Opto-Mechanical Engineering from UCLA, an MS in Polymer Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, and a BS in Polymer Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology.
