Shruti Iyer

Prof. Troy Carter's Plasma Research Group

Shruti Iyer is a skilled astrophysicist with a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics from UCLA. Currently part of Prof. Troy Carter's Plasma Research Group at UCLA since July 2022, Shruti conducts experiments analyzing plasma pressure signatures. Previously, contributions were made to Prof. Alvine Kamaha’s Dark Matter research group by assisting in setting up a new research lab and conducting quality checks. In Prof. Michael Rich's Research Group, Shruti researched the search for binary stars in the Milky Way halo. Additional experience includes serving as Science and Health Editor for the Daily Bruin and functioning as an e-astronomer at RAD@home, where rare Radio-Galaxies were discovered. Shruti also simulated satellite launches with Upsilon Lab and organized events for the Society of Physics Students at UCLA, highlighting strong leadership and technical skills throughout a diverse range of research and editorial roles.
