Steve Lurie serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor at UCLA, where leadership includes overseeing the UCLA Office of Campus and Community Safety, the UCLA Police Department, Fire Department, and Office of Emergency Management since February 2025. Concurrently, Steve holds a position as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Master in Criminal Justice program at the University of Southern California since April 2019 and has previously contributed to the Los Angeles Police Department as a Police Commander from March 2018 to February 2025. Steve also has extensive academic experience as an Adjunct Professor of Law at both Pepperdine University and Loyola Law School from January 2005 until May 2022 and February 2020, respectively, focusing on upper division criminal procedure courses related to urban policing issues. Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from UCLA and two Juris Doctor degrees from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
