Geraint Rees

Geraint Rees is currently the Vice Provost for Research, Innovation & Global Engagement at UCL, where they oversee a diverse portfolio that includes research facilitation and global partnerships. With an academic career beginning at UCL Institute of Neurology, Geraint has conducted significant research in the biological basis of human consciousness and holds over 300 peer-reviewed publications. They have previously served in several leadership roles at UCL, including as Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Director of the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. Geraint also contributed to clinical academic training policy as Deputy co-Chair of the Medical Academic Staff Committee at the British Medical Association and has held non-executive director roles with UCL Business PLC.
