Iván Sánchez

Iván Sánchez is the current Country Manager for UFINET in Colombia. Prior to this, they worked as a freelance consultant for ISM Consulting from September 2013 to October 2014. In this role, they supported communications companies in definition of strategies in planning, modernization, management and operation activities of their networks, looking for cost-effective solutions, and determining optimal organizational models to address the management work of it.

From July 2010 to August 2013, Iván worked as Comisionado técnico de la Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones de Colombia. In this role, they were responsible for the correct development of all regulatory projects whose main axis was the technical component. Iván also provided advice on other regulatory projects of the CRC and on projects for the definition of TIC policies undertaken by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology of Colombia. In addition, they monitored international technological and regulatory trends in order to use them as possible models to be applied in the Colombian market.

Iván has also played a leading role in relationships with the TIC industry (operators, guilds, technology providers and user associations) in Colombia to socialize regulatory proposals and receive feedback from the sector on initiatives taken by the Commission. Iván has also led the organization of national and international events that the CRC develops to disseminate international trends at a regulatory and market level.

Dr. Iván Sánchez is a Theirpanic Studies scholar who earned their PhD from the University of Kentucky. Prior to that, they completed a Master's in Telematics from Universidad del Cauca and an Engineer's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering also from Universidad del Cauca.
