Michael King

Director Of Engineering at UFP Technologies

Michael King has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michael started their career as an Apprentice Machinist at Micronics in 1992, where they gained experience in milling machine and lathe work, as well as various other aspects of the business.

In 1999, Michael joined KaZaK Composites, Inc. as an Engineering Program Manager. Michael managed multiple SBIR Phase I & II programs and played a key role in the development of ISO standards for the company.

Afterwards, they worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Triton Systems, where they provided engineering support for research and development programs focused on metal and ceramic matrix composites. Michael utilized techniques such as Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD or CVI) and Pressure Infiltration Casting (PIC) to create new material combinations for armor applications.

Michael then returned to KaZaK Composites, this time as a Manager of Technology Commercialization. In this role, they were part of a team responsible for commercializing technologies developed by the company. Michael generated quotes, interacted with customers, identified market opportunities, and facilitated commercial sales.

Most recently, Michael joined UFP Technologies, Inc. as the Director of Engineering in March 2021. Prior to this role, they held positions as a Senior R&D Applications Engineer and Manager of Design Engineering at the same company.

Michael King attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 1992 to 1999, where they pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
