Ugam Education Foundation works to educate and empower adolescent girls and young women from marginalised communities.

Ugam partners with Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), Anganwadi centres, and government systems to strengthen Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), promote health and gender education, and build leadership, voice, and agency among girls. Central to this effort is the Sashakti Fellowship, which nurtures local young women, largely KGBV alumni, as role models and leaders within schools and communities.

Currently working across Jharkhand and Orissa, Ugam adopts a long-term, community-rooted approach and is expanding its work to reach more regions. Through sustained engagement with institutions and communities, Ugam focuses on creating lasting change so girls are not only enrolled in education but are empowered to thrive.
