Michael Birnbaum

Michael Birnbaum has extensive experience in health care research and policy, currently serving in the Center for Health Care Research at UnitedHealth Group since January 2014. Prior to this role, Michael worked as Vice President at the United Hospital Fund of New York from 2000 to 2014, and served as a Health Care Analyst at the Congressional Budget Office from 1998 to 2000. Michael began a career in health policy as an Associate at AcademyHealth from 1996 to 1998. Michael holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Public Administration and Public Policy from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA from Wesleyan University in College of Social Studies, focusing on Economics, Government, and History.
